We will dive into the world of oil, starting with its cultivation and ending with the elaboration of our best juices. We will be doing an official tasting of our extra virgin olive oil during the visit.
In the north of the ecological reserve that constitutes the Cabañeros Park, a protected natural space in the middle of Montes de Toledo, is the olive grove of our family farm: Finca La Pontezuela. Picual variety olives are arranged next to the valuable cornicabra, the tradicional olive variety of the region. Los Navalmorales, where is our farm, is a place that since ancient times has been dedicated to olive cultivation. The expertise and polished attention of the olive has been maintained along the time, renewed by the incorporation of the latest techniques to provide oils with exquisite flavor –pure olive juice- and important health attributes.
Our farm is marked by the enthusiasm that produces offer top quality oils. Extra virgin olive oils of meticulous craft elaboration wherein we follow the highest standards of quality, picking olives in its optimal moment of ripeness, extracting the juice cold (T<27º) by mechanical procedures immediately after picking. This way we guarantee the preservation of all its sensorial and healthy qualities as well as its high nutritional value and we bottle it in a way that preserves every nuance and every one of its attributes.
Thanks to this meticulous process, La Pontezuela has achieved many national and international awards in the last years for the brand ‘5 elements’, in contests like the New York International Olive Oil Competition (NYIOOC), the Terraolivo Contest of Israel, the Cornicabra Awards granted by the PDO Montes de Toledo, Olive Oil Japan, the Mezquita Awards, Oil China, the EVOOLEUM Awards, the AVPA Contest (France) or the Gran Selección Awards in Castilla-La Mancha.
During the visit, the entire process of production, storage and packaging in our modern olive press, which uses the latest technology to produce the best of the olive juices will be explained.
